The political landscape in general and in Germany specifically is faced with big challenges, and increasingly so during the course of the last few years. Globalisation, disenchantment with politics, and a perceived lack of rapport of politics with the public are just a few keywords encountered in analysing the situation.

In general, politics seem to be occupied with management of the status quo, but fail to develop and communicate a vision that manages to establish a common goal, explain current politics to the public, and generate meaning. A long-term perspective on development of the political system including all relevant actors is wanting as well, and despite the best intentions and efforts, a shared endeavour, uniting the societal actors, is seldom established. The same holds true for the willingness to take necessary risks and to venture the unknown realm of future chances and opportunities.

With our approach to Political Excellence, we want to provide valuable decision guidance and general assistance to actors within the political system. These should be enabled to leave behind the prevailing problem orientation and enter an active stance in order to re-evaluate and reshape political structures and discourses.
